A fob inside a keyless car can still leave you locked out. The car reads the fob at the handle and at the start button, and a fob sitting in the console doesn’t always get picked up through a locked door. Most keyless cars still keep a mechanical key cylinder behind a small cap on the driver’s handle, so there’s a real lock on the door. What the Van Carries for Car Openings

Here’s the opening kit that rides on the van.

• Air wedges, to open a safe gap at the top of the door without bending the frame.
• A long-reach hook, to reach the lock button or the handle through that gap.
• Lock picking tools, for working the door lock itself.

Trunk Lockouts
